Skoda Rapid updated with the 'Plus Package' in India

Skoda India has issued a press release, which states that the Rapid sedan is now updated with a new ‘Plus Package’. Interestingly, the carmaker hasn’t given any details on exactly what the package includes. The release plainly states that the Plus Package comes with ‘additional features offering convenience to the customer’. The Plus Package has also spawned two new variants – the Active Plus and the Ambition Plus, which are the base and mid-level variants of the Skoda Rapid sedan. 

Only recently the Skoda Rapid’s group sibling, the Volkswagen Vento, has undergone an upgrade on its top-end Highline variant. The Vento now gets additional features like steering mounted controls, a satellite navigation system, parking camera and new alloy wheels. However, since the Rapid gets the Plus package on the lower variants, we expect more basic updates to the car. These could include steering mounted controls, USB connectivity, four-way speakers etc. 

The upgrades come as a result of the festive season that commences today. While Volkswagen has already updated their entry-level cars, Fiat is all set to launch the Punto Absolute and the Linea Absolute tomorrow. Skoda therefore joins the fray with the launch of the Rapid Plus Package. Stay tuned as we bring you more information on the contents of the Plus Package.
