The MissionL inspired Rapid is coming soon and is sure to make us hate the Vento-Fabia love child that is sold in India.

Skoda is all set to unveil the European version of the Rapid soon – and therefore the teasers have started making their way on the interweb. The carmaker has released a shot of the taillight and a close-up of the Skoda emblem up front. Needless to say, the two images are enough to enlighten you that the European Rapid will look nothing like its Indian namesake.

The MissionL concept’s inspiration is evident in the way the emblem sits on the bonnet and away from the grille in the first teaser image. The taillights too are shaped sharper than the Indian Rapid and the chiseled lines that flow around it are sure to look stunning when seen in metal.

In case you haven’t seen the spy shots of the European Rapid that are doing the rounds on the internet, then for your referral we have posted a couple of images that were published on WorldCarFans.com. Look closely and you’ll see that Skoda has skillfully ‘masked’ the European Rapid to look more or less similar to the Indian version – with the Vento-esque taillights and the wedge-shaped headlamps. However, these are nothing but printed vinyls which hide the sleek headlights, the C-shaped taillights, the big rear doors and the grille which will debut Skoda’s new design language.

The interiors are expected to be different too and the large rear door makes us wonder if Skoda has increased the cabin space too. Unlike the Indian Rapid, the European model will get a hatchback in true Skoda fashion. The list of features and creature comforts are expected to outnumber what is offered in India. We’ll have to wait and watch now till Skoda releases more information on the Rapid and of course, feel shortchanged every time they show us more of the European Rapid.
