To celebrate SL's 45th anniversary, Mercedes Benz has launched a limited edition SLS AMG GT3 race-car.
Do you want your SLS AMG to be as exclusive as, say, a Pagani? And that too in race spec? If yes, then look no further as Mercedes Benz has planned to hand-build a total of five SLS AMG GT3 race cars as a part of SL's 45th anniversary celebrations.
This GT3-spec customer race car comes with carbon fibre bodywork complete with a exclusive magneto-graphite matte paint job. It also gets a huge wing, a very serious aero package and obviously, a full-size roll cage and race-car interiors (read too many buttons, bespoke steering wheel and racing bucket seats.)

Flip open the composite hood and find a 6.2-litre V8 AMG unit, installed with the help of none other than Bernd Schneider himself. A big logo on the gullwing doors, roll cage painted with the same paint as the car's exteriors (in Magneto Graphite) and a badge that says "1 of 5" on the seats and the centre console distinguish this car from other SLS AMG GT3 racers.

And if you happen to be one of the five lucky people to spend an equivalent of Rs 3 crores (excluding import duties, of course), you will be handed over the car at AMG's headquarters in Affalterbach. Also, Bernd Schneider himself will tell you about the car. A factory tour and a trip to the section where engines are hand-finished is also part of the deal. A race-track tutorial session can also be attended, if you request them for one.
And if you, like us, can't afford it then do what we have been doing since the morning: Ogle at the pictures!
