Limited or special editions of popular and not-so-popular cars are preparing to hit the market this festive season.

As the festive season draws closer, it is that time of the year when carmakers attract the buyer with freebies, discounts, attractive finance schemes and new launches. While the Nissan Evalia, the Renault Scala and the Mahindra Quanto are some of the new models that will roll out this season, we hear that there are quite a few special or limited edition variants of popular or not-so-popular cars that are slated to hit the market in the recent future.

Special editions are coming this festive season

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R for example, which was once a popular hatchback but has seen unoptimistic sales recently due to the rising petrol costs, is now available with an optional ‘Wagon R Pro’ package that adds a range of goodies to the car. Tata Motors is said to be planning a limited edition of the Indigo Manza – which could be similar to the one we had caught on test a few months back. Hyundai, which is already offering tempting discounts on the i10, is also expected to cough up some special editions this festive season. Back at the launch of the 2012 Linea and Punto, we were told that Fiat is also looking at planning something special for the Linea T-jet during the festivities. Honda, who has been suffering recently due to the lack of a diesel, is expected to offer either limited edition variants of the current models or package the cars with freebies to make them more attractive. Meanwhile, Ford is said to be planning yet another loaded version of the Endeavour to attract the SUV buyers.

Stay tuned to OnCars as we dig in more through our sources to bring you detailed information on what more the carmakers are planning to roll out this festive season.
