The sporty-looking crossover will go on sale globally in 2014 and might even be launched here in India.
Earlier during the year, Mercedes Benz had announced that the company is readying an all-new crossover based on the new MFA platform which already has spawned the latest A-Class and the B-Class. This new model, to be called the GLA-Class, was earlier caught on test fully clad in a standard A-Class body.
Now though, the GLA crossover has been spied albeit wearing heavy camouflage. As these spy images reveal, the sporty-looking GLA appears to have been designed on the lines of the A-Class by the German carmaker, better known for its brawny SUVs like the GL and the GLK-Class. However, it will be significantly bigger in size than the A-Class to offer improved space and comfort.

Expected to be launched in 2014, the GLA will go up against some formidable rivals including the Range Rover Evoque and the BMW X1. The crossover is likely to feature similar range of engines that powers the new A-Class. The range includes turbocharged petrol and diesel engines with power output ranging from 85PS all the way to 210 PS. Also expected are front and four-wheel drive configurations.
