The first-ever production-ready images of the new SUV breaks cover; expected to launch in India by late 2013.

The onslaught of premium luxury SUVs has officially commenced with the first-ever production ready images of the all-new 2014 Porsche Macan SUV floating on the web.
Like every other automaker, trying to protect its testing models from the eagle eyes of auto journos, Porsche too has tried to hide the Macan SUV by taping fake headlights, taillights and chrome strip at the rear of the doors of the SUV, to fool you into believing that it is actually a Cayenne.
However, looking at the big center grille, the clear bonnet without any creases, a sloped back and long overhauls it is clear that this bad boy isn't a regular Cayenne but infact is the new Porsche Macan SUV.

Based on the Audi Q5 and the upcoming Q6, Porsche Macan SUV will be positioned below the Cayenne SUV. Porsche had released a teaser sketch of the upcoming SUV back in February 2012 and at the time had also announced it’s official name, which was earlier speculated to be called Porsche Cajun.
There are no specific details regarding the oily bits yet, but speculations are rife suggesting that the same drivetrain used in the Audi Q5 Hybrid with a Volkswagen-sourced 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine could be planted in Porsche’s sub-Cayenne SUV. A non-hybrid 4-cylinder is also speculated. A hard core Porsche Macan Turbo version is speculated to get a 3.0-litre V6 engine with twin-turbochargers that churns out 375PS of max power and close to 545Nm of torque.
It is worth noting that the this particular Porsche will be the first model to sport fewer than six-cylinders since the extinction of the Porsche 968 in 1995.

Also, apart from a 4-door version of the Macan seen here, it is reported that Porsche is also developing a 2-door version of the SUV.
Considering the success of the Cayenne in India, it is most likely that Porsche will bring the Macan SUV to India too, latest by end of 2013 or early 2014.
