Suzuki Wagon R Hybrid previewed with two new technologies

It is no brainer that with the current era of steadily increasing fuel prices, automakers around the globe are looking at alternative fuels and eco-friendly technology to feature in their respective cars. 

And with this endeavor, Suzuki Motor Corp has presented a new Wagon R that will be equipped with new technology called 'ENE-CHARGE,' which is short for 'energy charge' and an energy-saving electric air conditioning system called 'ECO-COOL.' The mild-hybrid Wagon R model is slated to go on sale in the Japanese market this September.

The mild hybrid system features a small displacement internal combustion engine equipped with an electric motor/generator and a lithium-ion battery. The system employs regenerative braking and at least some level of power assist to the internal combustion engine, while it can also run certain electrical equipment.

Combining both these technologies, 'ENE-CHARGE' and 'ECO-COOL,' Suzuki said that it expects the car to return up an average of 28.8kmpl in the Japanese driving cycle.
