Updated Mitsubishi Montero launched

Hindustan Motors Limited has launched an updated version of its popular SUV, the Mitsubishi Montero with some new features and minor design tweaks.

The Montero SUV has received some styling updates in the form of a colored key front bumper, new chrome radiator grille, new finish on power window panel and new stitch design on leather seats. The interior instrument console illumination is now red instead of blue. 

While there have been some subtle design tweaks, the chassis and the drive-train options in the SUV remains untouched. The same old 3.2-litre diesel engine with an intercooler and a turbocharger powers the Montero and generates 202PS of power and 414Nm of torque. The Montero is offered with three colors options -solid white, black mica and cool silver metallic - and retails for Rs 38.95 lakh  (ex-showroom, New Delhi.) Hindustan Motors Ltd had not yet confirmed if a price revision would be put in effect with respect to the upgraded Mitsubishi Montero.

Hindustan Motors have had a lot on their plate since the last few months with the launch of the new 2012 Pajero sport, the 2012 Outlander seven seater and had also repositioned the price of the Cedia sedan at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi.) All of this and more probably, to transform the sales numbers of Hindustan Motors. However, with a lack of sufficient number of showrooms and visibility in the crowded Indian market, the sales chart of the company continues to be unoptimistic.
