Renault launches the upgraded Fluence E4 D in India for Rs 15.20 lakh.

Upgraded Renault Fluence E4 D launched in India

For the last few days we have been reporting about Renault’s plans to launch an upgraded Fluence diesel in the Indian market. We confirmed yesterday that the upgrade won’t include an automatic transmission but there could be updates to the 1.5-litre dCi motor.

Well, Renault has finally pulled the rooster out of the hat and our speculations were half-correct. Contrary to our speculations yesterday, the upgraded Fluence won’t get the Start-Stop and the braking/deceleration energy recovery system. However, as we told you, the new 1.5 dCi motor does get redesigned turbochargers and re-profiled fuel injectors. The engine power output too has been updated to 110 PS from the current 106 PS. The torque output is still the same at 240 Nm but the torque curve has been re-profiled for better drivability in our conditions. With these improvements, Renault is now claiming a fuel economy of 20.4 kmpl.

The Renault Fluence E4 D gets a revised price tag now at Rs 15.20 lakh which is slightly higher than the previous Fluence E4 D – thanks to the revised taxation that the Union Budget 2012 brought in. Stay tuned to OnCars as we bring you a more on the 2012 Renault Fluence soon.
