Video: 2013 Aston Martin Rapide S packs more power, fewer emissions

More power, more fuel efficiency, refreshed looks and fewer emissions are some of the exclusive propositions for the 2013 Aston Martin Rapide S. Now although the four-door saloon doesn’t get significant updates in terms of design, the new front grille and a rear lip spoiler do make the Rapide S that little bit more special than the standard car.

With extra 80PS of power, Aston Martin it seems has concentrated more on the performance side of the things, managing to wrench a full 550PS of power and 840Nm of torque out of the same 5.9-litre V12 engine. Also, the carmaker says the Rapide S features improved low and mid-range performance. 

Thanks to the healthy power hike, the 2013 Rapide S takes just 4.9 seconds to get from 0-100kmph, while the top speed too is now well over 300kmph. However, despite such improved figures, Aston Martin claims that the 2013 Rapide S is a bit more fuel efficient and kinder to the environment than the standard car.

The 2013 Aston Martin Rapide S will go on sale in the UK next month with prices more or less similar to that of the current model.
