Video: Skoda Octavia gets a Five Star Euro NCAP rating

2013 Octavia passes EuroNCAP tests with flying colours.
The next generation Octavia is not just one of the most awaited cars, it's one of the safest too! The Euro-spec car was put to test by the guys at Euro NCAP and it managed to earn itself a five star rating. Here's a brief summary of the test results, courtesy EuroNCAP.com:

The 2013 Skoda Octavia proves to be safe for the adult occupants, scoring maximum points in the side barrier test. It fared well in almost all the test but the readings in the side pole impact showed weak protection for the chest. The car managed to do well in the child occupant safety tests too. For pedestrian protection, Octavias with active bonnet as well as standard bonnet were tested. While the former was deemed safe, the latter too managed to provide adequate protection, but not as much as the deployable bonnet. Bonnet's front edge provided poor protection to pedestrians but the bumper scored maximum points.
Electronic Stability Control is part of standard equipment on all Skoda Octavias (Euro-spec) and here's a video of it being tested:
