The special edition model marks a decade of production of Volkswagen's big SUV.
Exactly ten years ago, Volkswagen gave it's all-new Touareg off-roader SUV a world premiere at the Paris Motor Show. Bearing such an odd name, not many were able to pronounce the word 'Touareg' initially. Volkswagen even went to make a commercial poking fun at the fact that no one really knew how to pronounce it.
And now its been 10 years since the Touareg has been providing off-road competence of the highest level to its customers. To mark the special occasion, Volkswagen is dedicating a special edition model called 'Touareg Edition X' to celebrate an era of success.

Named after the Roman numeral for ten, the special edition features bi-xenon headlights, smoked taillights, a panoramic sunroof and 19-inch 'Moab' aluminum wheels. There's also tinted windows, the 'Chrome & Style' package, 'Touareg X' badging and an exclusive Moonlight Blue Pearl Effect exterior finish.
On the inside, there is an exclusive Amber Brown leather interior with special embossing, X-specific decals, ebony wood trim and illuminated door sill plates.

The Touareg Edition X is being offered with a vide array of engine and drivetrain options that are already available in Germany. The price starts at 61,025 euros or (Rs 41 lakh approximately) for the V6 TDi BlueMotion, which churns out 204PS of max power and comes with an 8-Speed automatic gearbox.

Unfortunately, the Touareg Edition X is being offered on sale only in Germany for now. It remains to be seen if the special edition model will be introduced in India as well.
