Volkswagen Group becomes the sole importer of Porsche in India.

Volkswagen to officially sell Porsches in India

The Volkswagen Group has officially announced that it will now act as the sole importer and distributor of the Porsche brand in India. We had reported about Volkswagen’s plan to do so, back in November 2011. Precision Motors, which was so far the importer for the Porsche brand in India, will now only sell and service the Porsche models through its network of showrooms and service centres throughout India.

With the new distribution channel in place, Volkswagen India will also setup the Indian arm for Porsche AG. Mr Anil Reddy, who brings with him an experience of over sixteen years of the Indian car market, will head the operations at Porsche India. Under his command Porsche will market all the models on offer, viz. the 911 range, the Panamera, the Cayenne and the entry-level Boxster / Cayman models. The upcoming compact SUV, Macan and the diesel version of the Panamera are expected to the next big-guns for Porsche in India.
