Sportier, two-door model will be officially unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show in March and will go on sale later in the year.
Rolls Royce, the maker of some of the most beautifully engineered cars of all time, is busy testing a high-performance Coupe based on the already fast four-door luxury sedan, the Ghost. The carmaker has already made it clear that this new Coupe will be the fastest Rolls Royce ever.
The standard four-door Ghost comes powered by a 540PS, 6.6-litre V12 engine and is no slouch by any measure. Rolls Royce, though, seems to think otherwise. Which is why for the Ghost Coupe, the same engine is said to be re-tuned to make over 600PS of power. The updated engine is likely to be linked to the standard version of the ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox which will continue to send the power to the rear wheels.
Engine upgrades aside, the Ghost Coupe will also feature beefed-up suspension and brakes to take care of all the extra power. While the air suspension set-up will also be lowered by about 10mm for improved agility, we can safely bet the Coupe will be as comfortable to ride in as the four-door Ghost.
