After rolling out the Brio facelift in the country, the much awaited 2016 Honda Accord is the next product to hit the Indian roads. Showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the new 2016 Accord sedan will be seen in the hybrid avatar deriving it as the first hybrid model in the Japanese portfolio for the Indian market. The Toyota Camry Hybrid challenger which is in its ninth generation has already been rolled out for the global market. The next generation Accord sedan will be brought in the Indian market through CBU route.
The hybrid system will be mated to an E-CVT automatic that comes with three automatic drive modes which include EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive while the selectable drive modes - Sport Mode, EV mode and ECON Mode. Under the hood, the new Honda Accord Hybrid will be powered by a 2.0-litre Atkinson Cycle i-VTEC petrol motor in combination with Sport Hybrid i-MMD (intelligent Multi Mode Drive) hybrid system which produces 209 BHP of maximum power. The Hybrid system can easily deliver a fuel economy of 23.1 kmpl.
