Fiat India has an aggressive plan in place after splitting up with their joint venture partners, Tata Motors. The first portfolio refresh after their split will come through the Grande Punto facelift. The revised model is expected to borrow design inspiration from the 2013 Punto that sells in the European market. It features a different design for the bumpers with daytime running lights and an additional set of turn blinkers.

It also features a new grille and a revised air-dam with integrated fog-lights. The tailgate has redesigned taillights that feature a revised detailing and there’s also a new design for the ‘Punto’ emblem on the bootlid. The rear bumpers are slightly different too. We expect and hope that its the same design that makes it way into India too.

The Punto facelift will continue to use the same engines as the current model i.e. a 1.2-litre petrol producing 68 PS and 96 Nm, a 1.4-litre petrol producing 90 PS and 115 Nm and two 1.3-litre diesels producing 76 PS / 90 PS and 197 Nm / 209 Nm. The interiors could see a slight revision too and there could be new features too -  like the ones seen on the Punto Absolute. The Punto facelift will serve as the pacifier till the all-new Grande Punto arrives by late-2014 or early 2015.
