Maruti Suzuki A-star facelift

Maruti Suzuki is the undisputed king of small cars in the Indian market. However, the A-star hasn’t really managed to be a big mover as the carmaker would have expected. Experts cite the styling to be the biggest flaw in the car as it hasn’t managed to excite the Indian buyer in the past few years of its existence. India being the export hub for the A-star, the vehicle will not see an end of production. The carmaker is therefore said to be working on a facelift of the A-star that could suit the Indian market better.

A facelift of the A-star was recently unveiled in China - which makes it look a lot like the Estilo, albeit shorter. The Japanese market too has a different looking A-star, which is a tall-boy, unlike the squatting hatch sold in India. Maruti Suzuki could therefore look at both these products to make the resultant facelift for the Indian market. The A-star facelift is expected to roll out by the festive season of 2013.
