The Superb has been a runaway success for Skoda India ever since the new model was launched in India a few years back. The car remains an undisputed market leader even today - even with fresh entrants like the Hyundai Sonata (fluidic) and the all-new Camry in the market. However, it is time for a mid-life makeover for the Superb and Skoda has been working hard on the same - as a series of spy shots suggest.
The Superb facelift will give the car a slightly more aggressive front end with redesigned headlamps and bumpers and a new grille inspired by the Mission L concept could also make its way onto the facelift since this car is Skoda’s flagship model - and therefore wearing the brand’s new design identity could be imperative. The spy shots of the Chinese version of the Superb also suggest that the tailgate of the refreshed model could draw design inspiration from the Audi A6 with elongated tail lights and a chiseled bootlid.
The Superb facelift is expected to make its global debut by the first quarter of 2013 and the imminent India launch could happen between August - October, 2013.
