Ssangyong Korando

The SsangYong brand has gotten off to a good start in India under the Mahindra dealership. The Rexton has already managed to follow the Mahindra trait of running its customers into a long waiting period. Owing to this success, Mahindra has now started testing the Korando compact crossover for the Indian market.

The Korando is to SsangYong what the XUV500 is to Mahindra – their first SUV built on a monocoque platform. It is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that puts out 175 PS of power. When launched, the Korando will be priced slightly higher than the XUV500, thus bridging the gap between the XUV and the Rexton.

We expect the Korando to make its Indian debut by mid-2013.
