Tata Nano 800

Tata is already working on a refreshed version of the Nano, but apart from the facelift, there is also an 800cc variant that is be developed. In an OnCars exclusive, we brought a video footage of the Nano 800 being tested in Maharashtra. With tips from our sources, we can confirm that the Nano 800 will use larger, 14-inch wheels as compared to the current model’s 13-inchers.

The Nano 800 also sits on a wider track due to the increased dimensions of the engine - but do not expect a wider cabin. The Nano’s cabin boasts of class-leading space nevertheless and the 800cc engine should give it the much needed statistics to be counted in the same league as the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and the Hyundai Eon.

The Tata Nano 800 is expected to be launched by late 2013 or early 2014 with a starting price tag in the range of Rs 1.9 to 2.1 lakh. The Nano 800 is also expected to co-exist with its smaller, 624cc sibling.
