Tata Nano Diesel

The buzz about the Tata Nano diesel has been around for quite a while. Tata is indeed developing a compact diesel engine that will not only be a sprightly mill for the pint-sized Nano, it will also make it the most fuel efficient hatchback in the country with a targeted fuel economy figure of over 32 kmpl.

The Nano’s diesel engine is being developed with the Bosch technologies and will aim at high levels of refinement. The Nano diesel will also run on larger, 14-inch wheels as compared to the current model’s 13-inchers.

The Nano diesel is expected to be launched along with the upcoming Nano 800, by the end of 2013 or early 2014. We expect the prices of the Nano diesel to start at Rs 2.5 lakh and going all the way up to Rs 4 lakh.
