Hyundai i40 – Sonata

Hyundai i40 may replace the current Sonata Embera as the premium sedan for the Korean manufacturer, in India. Although, the company may retain the brand name Sonata in India, the new model will be exactly the same as the one offered in the global market. Hyundai plans to manufacture and export both i40 and the SUV Santa Fe from India, and hence will be able to competitively price this sedan. i40 is only available with a 2.4-litre petrol engine that produces 198Ps and 250Nm of torque, and is expected to be prices round 18 to 20 lakh rupees. The new Sonata is quite a looker and is based on the fluidic design concept of Hyundai. The new sedan will compete against Skoda Superb, Honda Accord, VW Passat and few others in the E-segment. The Hyundai i40 is also known as the i45 in the Australia, Singapore and New Zealand markets.

Hyundai HND-7 concept

The compact SUV segment in India will see many entries in the coming few months. Few SUVs and concepts like the Ford EcoSport, Maruti compact SUV, Renault Duster, Audi Q3 will be displayed at the Auto Expo 2012. Hyundai HND-7 compact SUV concept is also set for a world premiere on January 5, at the Pragati maidan, in New Delhi. India’s second largest manufacturer hasn’t disclosed any details of this concept, but looking at the Hyundai’s history this will certainly be one of the most beautiful models at the Expo.

Veloster and Elantra
