Triumph Motorcycles has launched the 2017 edition of its popular naked roadster Street Triple in the UK. The 2017 version comes in three power options namely Triumph Street Triple S, Street Triple R and Street Triple RS. All three motorcycles get a new 765cc, inline three-cylinder engine but have been fitted in a different state of tune in the individual models.
Starting off with the 2017 Triumph Street Triple S, the engine in this model develops a maximum power output of 113 PS along with a peak torque output of 73 Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission system. The braking duties are done with the help of twin 310mm disc brakes up front along with a 220mm disc unit at the rear. The motorcycle has been assisted with an Anti-Lock Braking System, ride by wire technology and two riding modes namely road and rain. Besides, the new Street Triple S also receives switchable traction control system for added safety. The bike will be available starting April 2017 in the UK and has been priced at GBP 8,125 which means INR 6.73 lakh.
Talking of the Triumph Street Triple R, the engine in this motorcycle produces a maximum power output of 118 PS along with 77 Nm of torque. The motorcycle receives a slipper clutch to attack corners with ease. The suspension duties are taken care of with the help of Showa upside down forks up front along with Showa piggyback reservoir type monoshock at the rear. This bike will be available in the UK starting May 2017 and prices will be revealed later. The top of the line Street Triple RS comes with a quick shifter and a lap timer as well along with the equipment of the Street Triple R. According to Triumph, these three models have been assisted with 80 new parts including the swing arm, crank and the pistons. The company also claims that the 2017 edition of bikes is more agile than the outgoing models. Also Read: Triumph Motorcycles Completes Three Years in India
