A few days back, Harley Davidson that is particularly known for making high-end cruiser motorcycles introduced the Milwaukee range of engines that are claimed to offer several benefits. Now according to some reports, the oldest motorcycle brand in continuous production - Royal Enfield is also working on new engines. The interesting thing about these new engines is that they will deliver an enhanced fuel economy in comparison to what the existing models have to offer. The upcoming models by Royal Enfield will come equipped with the same fuel efficient engine that will hopefully enhance of the company.
Earlier, there were reports that Royal Enfield is also working on two engine platforms with displacements of 250cc and 750cc. These two engines will be enough to deliver the products to the company for the next three to five years. Out of these two engines, Royal Enfield has also plans to bring out its flagship - a 750cc, parallel twin motorcycle that has been spied doing test runs a few months back outside India. The motorcycle in the spy images reveal that the upcoming Royal Enfield 750cc motorcycle will come based on the Continental GT. The headlamp section, the fuel tank and seats have been taken straight from the 535cc model. However, the company might make some changes to the design philosophy to be more competitive in the respective segment. With this motorcycle, Royal Enfield will take on the likes of Triumph Bonneville.
The latest product from Royal Enfield is the Himalayan, which has been doing a decent work for the company in just a few months of its launch in the Indian two-wheeler market. The bike is the first proper entry-level adventure motorcycle in India and it has indeed managed to earn the attention of the masses when it got launched. The main highlights of the 410cc adventure tourer include large 21-inch wheel at the front, dual disc brakes and a high riding stance to take on any terrain with ease. The suspension system comprises of telescopic forks at the front while the rear has been assisted with a mono shock absorber. The Himalayan also gets a highly informative instrument cluster that gives an access to a lot of information to the rider. The multi-functional cockpit includes speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge. Besides, the instrument cluster also receives a digital geographical compass that helps in getting the directions while going to places unknown to the rider.
Coming back to the new engine that the company is working on, this is surely going to be a good news for the prospective buyers of Royal Enfield motorcycles. The simple reason being, Royal Enfield motorcycles are known for their low fuel economy as well that restricts a lot of riders from purchasing one. Royal Enfield might have understood the same and hence, decided to work on the more fuel efficient engine in a hope that it could do wonders for the company.
Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming products by Royal Enfield!
