
In India, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Japan entered into a technical collaboration with Hindustan Motors Limited and built a manufacturing facility in Chennai in 1998. The Japanese company is known for its rich motorsport heritage throughout history and robust engineering of its products. The name Mitsubishi has two parts - 'three' and 'bishi' meaning 'water caltrop' and hence the 'rhombus,' which is reflected in the company's logo of three diamonds.
