Pune based automobile manufacturer, Premier Ltd was inaugurated in 1944 and started to manufacturer Dodge and Plymouth cars and trucks. The company had a string of bad luck with its tie-up with Fiat and later with Peugeot, both of which ended bitterly. After almost a decade of absence, Premier Ltd made a comeback in the Indian auto industry with its compact SUV, Premier Rio in 2009.
