Close on the heels of the launch of the all-new Honda CR-V and the Audi Q3 petrol (which was silently slipped-in on the Valentine’s Day eve), BMW has launched its refreshed X1 in the Indian market at a price tag starting at Rs 27.90 lakh. The shocker though is that the X1 facelift will not get a petrol option anymore. The 2013 BMW X1 will be available only with a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which will be offered in three trim levels – sDrive20d, sDrive20d Sport Line and sDrive20d xLine.
The prices are as follows (ex-showroom, Delhi):
2013 BMW X1 sDrive20d – Rs 27.90 lakh
2013 BMW X1 sDrive20d Sport Line – Rs 32.50 lakh
2013 BMW X1 sDrive20d xLine – Rs 32.50 lakh
The 2.0-litre diesel engine now produces 184 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque as opposed to the outgoing model’s 177 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. The facelift brings minor design tweaks as well – which include revised bumpers, slightly redesigned headlights with LED powered corona rings and a slightly wider kidney grille.
As BMW had hinted at the beginning of the year, the X1 is now pricier than its outgoing counterpart. At this price point, the X1 now takes the battle closer to the Audi Q3 and is sounds like a better value-for-money proposition as compared to a similarly priced Q3 petrol. Stay tuned as we bring you live images of the X1 from the car’s launch in New Delhi.
