Although the Audi Q3 and the BMW X1 have amassed quite a following in the premium compact crossover segment, Mercedes Benz is adamant that it’s stunning looking upcoming model – the GLA will reinterpret the compact crossover segment.
Said to be effortlessly practical for everyday driving and robust enough for off-road excursions, the all-new GLA will be the fifth SUV in the Mercedes Benz model portfolio. It will be offered with four engine options, a 1.6-litre petrol, a 2-litre petrol, a 2.2-litre diesel and a more powerful 2.2-litre diesel. Mercedes Benz will also give an option to get the all-wheel-drive 4MATIC system in the GLA (only available on the more powerful GLA 250 and GLA 220 CDI engines).
The new GLA is the first Mercedes-Benz SUV to be available with the new-generation 4-MATIC all-wheel drive system, with fully variable torque distribution. When launched, the GLA will join Mercedes’ existing SUVs namely the GLK, ML, GL and the G Wagon.
