BMW has announced a range of M Performance accessories for the M5 and M6. Derived from the M3 DTM touring car driven by 2011 DTM champion Martin Tomczyk, the M Performance accessories are available for the M5, the M6 Gran Coupe, M6 coupe and its convertible counterpart.
On the outside, the cars can be had with M Performance body stripe, front grille finished in gloss black and lots of carbon fibre trim including a rear spoiler, a rear diffuser and the wing mirrors. Inside, buyers will have the option of opting for stainless steel pedals, carbon fibre trim and M Performance floor mats. The cars will also feature Alcantara steering wheel with a race display and shift lights.
While BMW hasn’t made any improvements in terms of power output, the company is offering a titanium exhaust system made by Akrapovic. This new system not only enhances the characteristic sound of the twin-turbo V8 but also offers better performance; thanks to it being 10 kg lighter than the standard unit. The company is also offering 20-inch light-weight alloy wheels and carbon ceramic brakes, further improving the performance both on the track and on the road.
