First introduced in India in 1998, the Honda City has found over 4.3 lakh homes across the country and is among the most successful sedans. Now in its fourth-generation, the new City delivers a new premium look and feel but more importantly, comes with a powerful yet fuel efficient 1.5-litre diesel engine sourced from the Amaze.
With prices starting at Rs 7.42 lakh, going till Rs 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the new City is available in 5 trim levels offered in petrol and diesel versions – E, S, SV, V and VX with manual transmission. Additionally, the car is available in CVT in SV & VX petrol trim.
The diesel City is powered by the 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine of Earth Dream Technology series and is the most fuel efficient car in the country with a claimed fuel efficiency of 26 kmpl. Producing 100ps of power and 200 Nm of torque, the engine comes mated to a newly developed 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Petrol version, on the other hand, gets an improved version of the familiar 1.5L i-VTEC engine that delivers 119PS of power and 145 Nm of torque. It has been mated with Honda’s advanced CVT automatic gearbox that delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 18kmpl.
