Called New Entry-level Sedan (NES) in BMW's internal language, this car will be made on the upcoming UKL platform. It will be optimized to use front-wheel drive architecture and in some cases, all wheel drive system too. The NES will come before the next generation 1-series, also front wheel driven, makes its way to the market. So, with the introduction of the entry level sedan, BMW will have a new product for all those who want to jump into the premium segment of automobiles and those who want a second BMW in their house. The car is expected to launch in 2017.
