The Honda Amaze has been in the news off late, and for all the right reasons considering it will be the first diesel-powered Honda ever to go on sale in India and that carmaker is banking heavily on it to give it the desired numbers (if you know what we mean)
After officially releasing a teaser image and video of the Amaze to keep the anticipation brewing, Honda Thailand, it seems, has shown off the Amaze in all its glory. The two official images leaked on the Amaze’s Facebook page show a car with a well balanced design despite the addition of a boot. The boot lid matches the rest of the design and doesn’t look like an after though even in profile.
The Amaze diesel is powered by a 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine developed specifically for markets like ours. It promises to offer class-leading levels of refinement and drivability. It is expected to put out over 80 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque and return a fuel economy in the region of 18-22 kmpl.
There will also be a petrol-powered Amaze featuring the familiar 90PS, 1.2-litre i-VTEC that powers the Brio hatchback. For the Amaze, the engine is likely to be uprated to go with the added weight.
