Hyundai is yet to introduce the 2012 Hyundai Sonata fluidic in the Indian market, which is due to take place any time now. However, the mid-sized sedan was launched in the South Korean market way back in 2009 and in the United States in early 2010, which calls for a facelift in these markets. That is exactly what the Korean company is working on.
Kim Choon-ho, chief executive of Hyundai Motor said that the company is planning to launch a revamped version of its popular mid-size sedan in 2014. The Sonata fluidic is the company's top-selling model in the U.S and has fostered Hyundai with record-breaking sales and market share in the last year. In the South Korean market, Hyundai Sonata is the company's thrid best-selling model.
The 2012 Hyundai Sonata was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi earlier this year and is awaiting its launch by the end of this month. Looking at the pattern, it is most likely that after introducing the 2014 Hyundai Sonata facelift in the international market, the company could showcase the revamped version in India at the 2016 Auto Expo followed by a launch later that year.
