The Hyundai Sonata is one of the best-selling midsize cars in the USA. It is also the most dependable midsize car, as rated by J.D. Power and Associates in their 2013 Vehicle Dependability Study. Now for 2014 model year, Hyundai has updated the current-gen Sonata with minor design revisions and more refined interiors.
As a part of the update, the Sonata now gets a revised grille, new 17- and 18-inch wheels, HID Xenon headlights, LED taillights and a new rear fascia insert. Inside, Hyundai has fitted better quality carpet for a quieter interior. Also, additional use of form in the A and B pillars ensure improved NVH, claims the brand.
Under the hood, the Sonata continues to be powered by the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 190PS of power. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The updated Sonata is now on sale in the US with a base price of $21,350 (Rs 13.21 lakh), $155 (Rs 9,595) more than the outgoing model.
