Increasing the desirability factor of its compact SUV Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki is now offering a host of customization kits on these vehicles. The same has turned out to be quite a big success for the Indo-Japanese automaker in India with it recently clocking 1.75 lakh bookings, that too in a span of just 8 months of its launch. The move for providing a wide array of add on kits has been done in accordance with the company's strategy to attract young buyers in India. These kits are offered under the ‘i-Create’ scheme and allow buyers to customize their Brezza’s down to what colour of stitching they want on the seat fabric
Offering personalization kit on a mass market vehicle like the Vitara Brezza is a commendable idea by Maruti Suzuki as till now such packages were only available on high end luxury vehicles. Getting into the details, there are close to 90 different personalization combinations, distributed across 5 customizations packages from which one can choose from. These include the Sports Accelerate package, Sports Velocity package, Glamour Glitz package, Glamour Elegance package and the Urban Dynamic package. Not only this, one also has the option of putting selective gizmos through the A La Carte schema.
Some of the highlights of this plethora of customizations options include different exterior garnishes, alloy wheels, chrome highlights, skid plates, interior fabric stitching, designer floor mats, steering wheel covers, a choice of multimedia system among the many. There are about 16 different fabric options which one can choose from for the seats. If you are a music aficionado then there are multitudes of choices available in terms of sub-woofers and amplifiers as well. And the best part of all these customization kits is that they are provided directly by Maruti Suzuki and not by the dealerships, so no worry about the spares. It has been often observed that buyers in India tend to make inroads to local customizations shops in order to equip their vehicles with a multitude of gizmos and after market accessories as the options available at the dealerships and that offered by the automaker are quite limited. Maruti’s move to provide a wide array of factory fitted customizations and personalization packages will only help it strengthen it already strong relationship with its customers. The same will also prevent putting the vehicle’s warranty at risk which is often the case when fitting a vehicle with after-market products. The response for the ‘i-Create’ scheme has been quite overwhelming with buyers fitting equipments and visual modifications up to INR 1 lakh on their Vitara Brezza. A rather interesting fact about these 90 or so combinations available on the compact SUV is that they have been designed at Maruti’s design studio by a team from the National Institute of Design. Another good news is that the automaker plans to bring ‘i-Create; scheme to other models in its portfolio as well.
