The interior gets a modern design finished in lightbrown/brushed silver two-tone shade to make it more appealing.
Just a few days back we brought you the latest pictures of Maruti’s important new small car, the Alto 800. While the exterior shots revealed pretty much everything we ought to expect from the carmaker’s latest offering, we only got to see little of the interior design and layout. Now though, thanks to CarBlog India, the interiors of the upcoming Alto 800 can be seen in detail.
As can be seen from these latest set of pictures, the interior of the Alto 800 has been finished in light brown shade with brushed silver inserts for the centre console, air vents, steering wheel and the door handles. Although it looks a lot better when compared to the earlier model’s aged design and layout, we doubt if the quality has been equally improved.
The dashboard appears to be a mix of new design elements and bits taken over from the earlier model. While the centre console now features newly designed air vents, it still has to make do with the same-old control knobs taken from the current model. Also, the new Alto gets all-new dials but the steering wheel is straight off the Zen Estilo. As for the dual-tone upholstery, it certainly looks appealing but the design and the choice of colors are a little too garish for our liking.
Underneath, this new model is based on the current Alto platform. For the new Alto 800, it has been modified to offer more space and comfort and will be housed with an updated version of the same 796cc, 3-cylinder engine from the Alto. When launched, the Alto 800 will be placed below the Alto k10 which comes powered by a bigger 998cc, K10B K-series engine.
