Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the much anticipated Ignis urban compact hatchback in India on the 13th of January this year. Now ahead of its official debut, the information regarding the variants of this vehicle has been leaked on the internet, curtsey Team BHP. According to this leaked information, the Ignis is to come in 4 different trim levels, for both the petrol and diesel power guises.
For the petrol power car, the Ignis will be available in the Sigma, Delta, Delta-AMT, Zeta, Zeta-AMT, Alpha and a 'Taxi' variant (w & w/o AMT) while in the diesel guise, it will come with Delta, Delta-AMT, Zeta, Zeta-AMT, Alpha and Taxi variant (w & w/o AMT). Going by this, you can see that the petrol version will get 4 trims plus one Taxi while the diesel version will get 3 trims plus one Taxi. We are already aware of the fact that the Maruti Suzuki Ignis will get a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine, the exact specifications of which will only be revealed once when the vehicle gets launched in India on the 13th of January. Aimed at the millennial of India, the Ignis is to sport a radical exterior and interior design and will also be quite feature rich in nature. It will be sold through Maruti’s Nexa dealership outlets and act as an entry level vehicle to the automaker’s premium product portfolio in India. We expect the Maruti Ignis to be priced in India around the mark of INR 6 to 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
