BMW will soon be coming up with an all-new model called the 2-Series Active Tourer. Poised as a direct rival to the Mercedes Benz B-Class, this new model is the first BMW to be built on the front-wheel-drive UKL1 platform. The same platform also underpins the latest MINI Cooper.
When launched next year, the 2-Series Active Tourer is expected to be offered in both five and seven seater configuration, making it a thoroughly practical vehicle. Engine options, meanwhile, will include 1.5-litre, 3 cylinder petrol and diesel engines sourced from the latest MINI. Also expect to see the high-performance 2-litre turbo petrol engine from the Cooper S hot hatch.
With the upcoming B-Class facelift in its sight, the new 2-Series Active Tourer will go on sale in the UK sometime late next year.
