Do you find the current Corolla Altis a bit boring? We all know that it’s a very good car and backed with the Toyota brand name, not much can go wrong with it, but it still doesn’t have the charisma and desirability other cars in its segment have.
Although Toyota can bring some more charm to the car with the launch of the next generation Corolla. While the Japanese carmaker will take a few months before launching the car here in India, it has announced the prices of the 2014 Corolla in the USA.
Starting at $16,800 and going up till $19,000 (excluding the optional extras), the Corolla will be available in four trim levels, namely L, LE, S and LE Eco. The ‘S’ is the sportiest of the lot while ‘LE Eco’ the greenest.
The design has strong resemblance to the Furia Concept that Toyota showcased earlier this year, which is a good thing, especially after seeing the rather bland designs from Toyota. As for the engine options, both petrol and diesel powertrains will make it to India, with the inclusion of the new CVT gearbox (with seven predefined shift points).
